Shriners Circus

Well we debated whether Elle was too young for the circus or not. Whether or not the clowns would freak her out or if she would lose interest quickly, but it was great! We went with some of our close friends and Elle was spoiled from cotton candy, to snow cones. Her favorite part was the ribbon gymnasts. There were elephants, stunt men, acrobats, motorcyclists, tigers, and much more. We ended up leaving a little bit early because of the smell of grease and the heat were a little much toward the end, especially for me (pregnant lady), but I am really glad we went.

Zoo days have begun!

We bought an annual family pass for the zoo. The Memphis zoo is probably one of the best things they have here for kids. Elle is always excited to go to the petting farm and see the monkeys. A while back we saw some pink and purple Jazzy lions (Elle's lovey that she has had since around 6 months old) in the zoo gift store. We kept thinking we would come back and get one for a special occasion for her. Well they don't have them anymore! She was bummed but her and James found a mini lion and a purse that it came with and she was a happy girl once again. It seems like I have already done a few zoo posts but its something we do alot here and will probably be one of Elle's fondest memories once we leave Memphis.

Nashville getaway

We all know that winters get depressing and LONG and even though Memphis winters are definitely shorter than Idaho winters, it still seems like it drags on. Me and a few of my friends have been wanting to getaway for a weekend and our husbands took charge of the children and we were able to go to Nashville. It was so fun and so needed! We went to the Grand Ole Opry and saw Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Vince Gill and a few others that were older and that I didnt recognize. It was a fun atmosphere and I am so glad I got to go! We also did some shopping, ate at the cheesecake factory, california pizza kitchen, got pedicures, went to a movie, soaked in the hot tub (just feet for me) and talked late into the night. It made me realize how much I actually need to get away once in a while without kids. Thanks James, who was great about the whole thing and spent lots of quality time with Elle (even painting her fingers and toes purple) while I was gone. Next time you are coming with me:) Excuse the ugly pictures of me, I am almost 20 weeks and unfortunately I am not one of those skinny butt pregnant women who only gain in their tummies (seriously is that even fair?)....so you will probably not get too many more pictures of me after this point.

Dancing Queen!

Elle started dance classes the first of January. She has been so excited to be in a real dance class and cannot wait to perform on a stage in front of everyone. She is taking tap and ballet and she has her first recital coming up in June. She is really improving just in the past two months and I just love that it makes her happy:) She is definitely all girl. The other day when we were driving home from dance she said " Mom why do we do the same dances every time?" I had to explain to her that those were the dances she had to practice every week so she could perform on the stage. I think she understood after that. We are thinking about putting her in soccer this spring but I am not sure how well she will fare...we'll see!
